Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about QR codes and our generator
Our QR code generator supports various content types including URLs, plain text, contact information (vCard format), email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, WiFi network credentials, calendar events, and more. The content you encode determines what action will occur when the QR code is scanned.
QR codes have different capacity limits depending on the type of data being encoded. Numeric-only codes can store up to 7,089 characters, alphanumeric up to 4,296 characters, binary up to 2,953 bytes, and Kanji up to 1,817 characters. For most practical uses like URLs or contact information, these limits are more than sufficient.
For best scanning results: 1) Choose an appropriate size (minimum 2x2 cm for print), 2) Maintain good contrast between the code and background, 3) Avoid distorting the square shape, 4) Leave sufficient quiet space around the code, and 5) Test your QR code with multiple devices before widespread use.
Our basic QR codes don't include built-in analytics. However, if you encode a URL that points to your website (especially one with analytics like Google Analytics), you can track visits from the QR code. Alternatively, you can use URL shorteners with analytics before encoding the shortened URL in your QR code.
No, all QR codes generated with QR Code Generator are completely watermark-free with no limitations on usage. You own full rights to use the QR codes you create for any personal, commercial, or public purpose without attribution.
